It is becoming more and more common for many of our aging family members and loved ones to move into a nursing home to aid them in their day-to-day living. Nursing homes are there to provide a safe environment, stimulating activities, proper meals, and a helpful staff to our eldest family members. Unfortunately however, problems between staff and residents sometimes arise.
In this saddening case occurring at a nursing home in Rome, Georgia, a resident with a history of dementia was shoved into a bathroom shower by a frustrated and ill-mannered staff member. The resident suffered a broken femur due to the incident. It was later found out that this staff member had a history of bad behavior. Sadly this abuse of the elderly is quite common, but if you or a loved one experience an event such as this case, here’s what to do:
- If you are aware of or suspect abuse at a nursing home, report it.
- Contact a law firm, such as Gardner Injury Law, to make sure the nursing home is held responsible and get you the compensation you deserve.
